SSR Degree College: Curriculum
Bachelors in Physical Science
Mathematics, Electronics & Computer Science (MECs)
B.Sc. with mathematics, electronics and computer science is three-year undergraduate course aimed to provide the basic and fundamental knowledge of computer hardware and software. A course combining together the hardware and software aspects of the electronic components and with a special emphasis on Microprocessor and VLSI design using VHDL is supposed to be one of the alternatives for those who opt conventional courses in place of engineering education.
First Year
The students undergoes a course analysis in circuit analysis, Electronic devices ckts (EDC), which includes Net work theory, steady state and transient responses, D characteristics and applications of electronic components. Students also undergo a practical training course in an application package in MS-Office and also C- Languages programming techniques. Mathematics includes Differential Equations and Solid Geometry.
Second Year
The students undergo a course in Analog Electronics and communication system which includes Modulation techniques, Radio and TV technology and different types of oscillators. The mathematics curriculum includes Group theory, Ring theory and Real analysis. Students are also exposed to the concepts of C++ and data structures.
Third Year
Students undergo a course in Digital electronics, micro processors and VLSI technology using VHDL which includes programming techniques using 8085 Micro processor and VHDL programming for VLSI design Mathematics syllabus includes linear algebra including vector spaces, matrices inner product space and Numerical Analysis as elective paper.
Course Benefits
They are eligible for post graduation in Maths, Electronics, Computer Science offered by all Universities, MCA and MBA. Further they are eligible for National Level examinations like DRDO, BAARC and Applied Electronics.
Opportunities
Candidates pursuing this course have opportunities like CSIR, GATE, Software industry, IT and IT based services, and in companies like BHEL, HCL, HMT, etc., Teaching and many more.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed with IPE conducted by the Board of Intermediate, A.P., or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with MPC group with a minimum of 40% aggregate marks are eligible for admission to MECs 1 year Course. Candidates from vocational stream should have passed the bridge course in Maths and Physics.
